New Bike Repair Shop in NE DC

There is a new shop focusing in used bikes and repairs in NE DC and they are having a fundraising gala. They are located at 314 Randolph Pl NE and are already open!

REMINDER: Tomorrow is Neighborhood Cleanup Day!

Tomorrow, October 4th, is

the monthlyEdgewood neighborhood cleanup and BBQ, and the weather forecast looks great. Please come out and join your neighbors if you can. 

We meet in front of the Rec. Center (300Evarts St. NE) at 10:30. The cleanup is sponsored by the Friends of Edgewood, and occurs the first Saturday of each month at this time and place. We provide bags and gloves, and plus grilled hot dogs and soft drinks afterward, around noon. Come join friendly neighbors old and new, to clear litter from our neighborhood and chat about local news, etc. Free food and drink for volunteers.

You're invited to stop by and say HI, even if you only have a little time and can't stick around for lunch, or can only help for a couple minutes. If you can't come out at all, keeping the area around your house clean helps us cover more areas!

Here also is our free membership signup form-- pls.  spread the word to other neighbors who might like to get involved.

Monroe Street Market Grand Opening!

                                                                                

 

Grand Opening Celebration Event at Monroe Street Market

 

What:                    Join Monroe Street Market for a Grand Opening celebration from 5-9pm! Enjoy live music from Lloyd Dobler Effect. Beer, wine, and food will be available for purchase from the newly opened Brookland Pint and samples available from &pizza, Busboys and Poets, and Potbelly’s. 

 

The Grand Opening Ceremony will begin at 6:30pm with performances from The Catholic University student group, Redline A Cappella, and opening remarks from special guests. Lastly, a vibrant lighting of the Arts Walk Tower will add to the festival mood in celebration of the Brookland community. 

 

The first 100 guests to arrive will receive a signature Monroe Street Market glass and ticket for the Brookland Pint beer garden.
