Dance Place in Edgewood to Break Ground on Renovation

To Break Ground On Renovation

 

The Dance Place Board of Directors & Co-Directors Carla Perlo and Deborah Riley will host a Groundbreaking Ceremony on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 from 4:30 – 6:00 PM to celebrate the expansion and renovation of Dance Place beginning mid-August.

After 32 years of being the “hub of dance” for Washington, DC, Dance Place is ready for an expansion and a major renovation.  While under construction from August 2013-February 2014, we will present performances in a variety of theaters and host daily classes at two locations on 8th St NE.  Performance and class details can be found at www.danceplace.org

About The Moving Forward Campaign

Dance Place is undergoing a $5 million capital campaign, “Moving Forward.” The campaign has the following three aspects: expansion and renovation of our main facility, program enhancement and the establishment of a building and cash reserve to improve the financial underpinning of the organization that will sustain our spirit of creativity for the next thirty years. To date, $3.07 million has been raised towards the $5 million goal.
