Hypothermia Watch Partner Program
The Hypothermia Watch Partner Program provides emergency shelter between November 1st and March 31st each year, and is also available during Hypothermia Alerts that are based on the National Weather Service forecasts.
The hypothermia season begins November 1 and ends March 31. Hypothermia is a potentially life-threatening condition that occurs when a person's internal body temperature is less than 95 degrees Fahrenheit; Normal body temperature is about 98.6degrees Fahrenheit. When hypothermia occurs, the body loses heat faster than it is able to produce heat.
Eligibility: Residency in the District of Columbia.
